BEHIND THE LENS

I'm an Army combat veteran of 10 years, I support my fellow brothers and sisters in arms! Military will always have a special place in my heart.

I have been taking pictures for as long as I remember; from the Polaroid camera, digital point and shoot, and now the DSLR cameras. I am mostly self-taught, learning through trial and error, nuggets of knowledge from people in this field, and online classes. I shoot, because I love it; it is quite fun and you can capture life’s greatest moments in time. I went through a photography course at the Art Institute of Austin in 2011 which showed me a lot and expanded my knowledge in the field. I learned the basics and soon after I was gifted a Canon T3; things have taken off ever since then. I currently shoot with a Sony A7iii.

I started my own studio called Dat One Studio in Corpus Christi, TX in 2016. I specialized in Event Photography and Portrait Photography at the time. I currently shoot Automotive Photography and Portraits as my main focus, but still shoot a bit of everything. I stepped away from the studio shooting because I love natural light and shooting on location. I think it is important to have a wide range of skills in your tool kit. So I also do graphic design and motion graphics.

Some of my work includes shooting at American Photo Model Shoot (2012), Digital Days (2012). I have had work displayed at Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum in Austin, TX (2012). The Art Instituted of Austin opened a gallery for the Veterans which I had 26 photos on display (2013), Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2016), I've been published three times in The One Bride Guide in Corpus Christi, TX (2017), Featured Blog by Model Citizen Magazine (2018), and various features on Instagram (2018), I completed my Internship at Lamborghini Austin (2018) were I worked on photography of their inventory and a few promo videos for there social media platforms.

With the love and support of my family I look to grow this business to serve you in the best way possible. Please help support the love I have for photography, art and purchase some of my work. It helps me fund more projects, get better equipment, grow my classes, and you get a great piece of art out of it. Thanks for coming and I hope you have a blessed day.
